Study skills for dyslexics
Dyslexics are generally bright and engaging individuals with the intelligence and capability to perform well, or even very well, in most walks of life. As such dyslexia need not pose any long term problems if spotted early.
However the fact is that most dyslexics need to learn a series of strategies to help them cope with and compensate for their challenges, especially when it comes to performing in exams – typically the most challenging environment of all.
It’s fair to say that all students can benefit from learning proper study skills! However if you are dyslexic, or have a dyslexic child, taking a disciplined approach to acquiring study skills really can pay benefits when it comes to exam grades.
HADC runs a range of age-appropriate courses in study skills at the centre. We also work with schools to deliver study skills courses on an outreach basis.
