Gemma Jones - running for the Helen Arkell Centre

Gemma Jones running

Gemma came down to the Centre and saw some of the children attending one of the summer schools. She was so impressed with the creative teaching and childrens’ enjoyment that she decided she wanted to support us in some way and decided to fundraise for us by running the marathon. In preparation for the London Marathon, she has just completed the Fleet half marathon in an excellent time of 1 hour 25 mins 50 secs and was 9th female to finish. If you would like to contribute and sponsor Gemma for her London Marathon run, please follow the link below to her Just Giving page:

Lesley Wotherspoon - running for the Helen Arkell Centre

Hi Folks,

This won't have come as a big surprise to many of you, I've been telling everyone who'll listen that I'm running the marathon -including the postman, the cleaner, the old man who shouts around West Didsbury of a morning! This year, I am again raising money for the Helen Arkell Centre Dyslexia, they are a small charity who rely on donations to carry on their fantastic work. Dyslexia is very common and can really impact a child’s academic success and future path if it goes undiagnosed and unmanaged. With the right management and guidance dyslexics can harness the creative and dynamic thought process, which many see as a gift!
