Susan Hampshire at the HADC golf day, 13 May 2011

The Golf Day held at Liphook Golf Club is always one of the most enjoyable events of the fundraising year at HADC. This competition was started in 1993 and for several years has been superbly organised by Sue and Ewan Stradling, but this year it was even more splendid as we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary.

Founder Helen Arkell was there to congratulate the 54 participants who all enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Golf Club after they had finished the competition and actress Susan Hampshire, who has long been an interested and loyal supporter of the Centre, joined the players for lunch and presented the Leighton Salver to the winning pair Stuart Barnes and Neville Mardle with a score of 44 points.

Susan toasted Helen Arkell and the Centre and reminded everyone that Helen was the dyslexia pioneer who opened the first dyslexia centre and Helen responded by thanking Susan for being such a wonderful role model.
