Putting in the miles for dyslexia
There are many worthy things in the world – dyslexia is not alone in demanding the attention of those who seek a good cause as the focus of their charitable exertions. At HADC we can’t claim to save lives. However with as many as one in eight people facing the challenges of dyslexia the work we do, especially in training teachers, does impact on a huge number of people.
We hold our own fund raising events – but always welcome the support of those who want a charity focus for raising money when they take on their own individual challenges.
We are eternally grateful to those individuals who give their time to raise money for dyslexia. For some it is the hard slog of wet winter road running in preparation for The London Marathon. This year one of our enterprising supporters who had planned to sponsor a runner for £20 spent the money making cakes and ended up contributing nearly £100.
Others chose to raise money in a more leisurely fashion amid the decidedly more rural green and leafy surroundings of our golf day.
We’re always happy to hear from passionate marathon men and women looking for an excellent cause, anybody who is planning an event and would like to involve us as a beneficiary, or simply mad keen golfers who fancy joining us for a day off in pleasant company.
All the money raised goes directly to our Bursary Fund.
An 'Auction of Promises' organised by our Trustees last Autumn raised nearly £8,000
